Red Baneberry Actaea rubra Family Ranunculaceae
Blooms from May to July. Fruit from August to October. Geographic Range: Range is circumboreal in America from Labrador and Newfoundland to Alaska, south to Connecticut, northern New Jersey, northern Indiana, Iowa, and Arizona. Habitat: Rich woods Garden Use: Same as White Baneberry Historic Uses: All parts of the plant are poisonous. Red Baneberry is extensively used as parts of medicines. Berries are extremely poisonous. |
