Creeping Phlox

Brief Description
:
Has small entire, opposite leaves; 0.5-1.5 inches. The flowers are a light lavender; 2-3 cm wide. Forms a mat on the ground; stems creep along the ground, 4-18 inches. The albino forma alba is pictured at right.

Blooms from April to June.

Geographic Range: From northwest Vermont and adjacent Quebec to Minnesota, south to Georgia and Texas.

Habitat: Rich, moist woods

Garden Use: A shade loving, creeping groundcover that grows quickly.
